Position: Product Engineer

Location: NW Houston, Texas

Salary: $85K to $100K with a 5%-10% Annual Bonus Eligibility

 

EDUCATION:

BS in Mechanical Engineering

At least 3 years of related experience in field and with similar products

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage the engineering service request (ESR) process
  • Maintain all product lines including; troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving product issues.
  • Troubleshoot design related issues in production
  • Assist with quality first article inspection (FAI)
  • Create production drawings for products from 3D solid models or sketches with limited direction including the creation of 3D CAD Models
  • Maintain Oracle including; BOM’s, Part Numbers, Routers, etc.
  • Report department KPI’s
  • Ensure that design changes to products comply with regulatory requirements (ex. NACE, API, UL)
  • Maintain design integrity of products to meet safety requirements of local, federal and industry requirements at a minimum.
  • Develop prototypes, test plans and validate design changes or new suppliers through analysis and testing as required.
  • Participate in or conduct design reviews, provide feedback, using appropriate tools, i.e. FMEA, analyses, field and lab testing.

 

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Comfortable giving technical presentations/interfacing with customers and suppliers.
  • Process controls functionality – valves, actuators, regulators, level controls, etc.
  • Risk assessment skills and ability to exhibit sound judgment in decisions making
  • Exhibits good creativity and innovation in design work while keeping project goals in mind.
  • Knowledge and adherence to export control regulations.
  • Proficient in 3D/CAD Solid Modeling - CREO
  • Logical thinking, deductive reasoning and attention to details.
  • Cause and effect analysis skills
  • Product evaluation, testing and reporting skills
  • Solid understanding of engineering mechanics, fluid flow and pneumatics.
  • FMEA (Failure Modes and Effects Analysis)
  • Geometric Dimension and Tolerance (GD&T)
  • Knowledge of quality standards and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficient with software such as Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Oracle and Adobe.
