Plant Manager

Position Location: Houston, TX (East)

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Salary:  $90,000 - $120,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the safe manufacturing of high quality products in an efficient, productive and cost-effective manner while being highly customer service oriented internally and externally. 
  • Provides leadership, coaching and development to his/her direct reports (Production, Maintenance & Administration) to promote the company core values and support the achievement of the company objectives.
  • Plays a key role in defining and exemplifying the performance culture of the plant and inspiring all of the plant employees in the achievement of greater results.
  • Be an effective member of the larger Operations Team and support the company growth vision and to create the desired performance culture
  • Lead the process of systems development, implementation and management including audits and compliance measures.
  • Improve plant performance and consistency of results through employee development, preventive maintenance, process improvements & capital projects implementation.
  • Create a culture of continuous improvement and engagement by all people to make processes more efficient.
  • Build and deliver the budgeted costs including P&L’s, all budgeting activities, and on-going cost management.
  • Support the execution of all current capital projects and the development and justification of all future capital projects.
  • Take charge of all employee related matters including hiring, training, coaching & development, performance management, communications and formal/informal rewards. 
  • Foster a positive team ethos geared towards profitability satisfying customer requirements and a sense of urgency to address customer concerns.
  • Other duties and projects as required.

Requirements:

  • 4-year bachelor’s Degree a minimum; Engineering or Technical degree preferred
  • 7+ years experience managing in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong financial acumen in support of budgeting/ P&L activities and investment justification is a must
  • Strong capital planning and execution experience is required
  • Prior background with lean six sigma working knowledge and track record of results is necessary for the role
  • A successful track record in developing and implementing effective manufacturing systems (QMS, CMMS, ERP, HS&E, MES, KPI Reporting, etc.) is an asset
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written are needed
  • Effective time management, job task planning, and organizing skills are needed
  • Energizing leadership and inspirational people skills and strong motivational capabilities
  • Previous experience with management of rapid change in a high growth environment would be an asset
  • Ability and availability to travel as needed
