Paralegal

Compensation: $45,000 to $55,000 Annually

Location: Kingwood

This position is primarily responsible for contract administration related to the franchising business of the Company. Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Develop a working knowledge of applicable Federal and State regulatory requirements for the franchising activities of the Company.  Understand and customize the standard vendor agreements for each of the vendor categories.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist attorney in preparation of annual update to FDD, including all exhibits, in compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements.
  • Preparation of annual renewal registration documents for filing in 16 registration States and response to various questions and issues raised by state franchise examiners.
  • Preparation of interim revisions to FDD when appropriate or required.
  • Maintain latest version of FDD and exhibits in the electronic system for use by business development team with prospective franchisees.
  • Preparation of FDD for franchise renewals.
  • Assist attorney in preparation of annual update to FA for changes requested by management while insuring continued compliance with Federal and State regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain latest version of FA and exhibits in the electronic system for use by business development team with prospective franchisees.
  • Preparation of FA, including applicable amendments and addendum, for all new and renewing franchisees and send via DocuSign for electronic signatures.
  • Work with business development team in developing assigned geographic territory for new franchisees through use of eSite mapping technology.
  • Receive and process all fully executed FAs and enter into contract management system.
  • Preparation of FA documents for franchisee transfers, relocations, ownership changes, etc.
  • Preparation of documents related to the termination of FAs.
  • Assist attorney in responding to questions from franchisees, management, business development team, etc. regarding items such as transfers, territory concerns, etc.
  • Preparation of independent contractor agreements for Company administrators in various market areas throughout the U.S.
  • Assist attorney in preparation of vendor agreements for the Company’s cooperative buying program.

Requirements: 

  • Parelegal Certificate Required
  • 3-5 years' experience in Paralegal role
