Operations Manager


An International Distribution company that has clientele in multiple business operations is looking for a qualified operations manager for their Odessa, TX location. All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply.

Position Salary: $100,000 - $115,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus + Profit Sharing


  • Responsible for the supervision and coordination of operations and production at the facility.
  • Requires an individual with excellent time management skills and a proven record of successful management skills in a chemical distribution, chemical manufacturing industry, or a similar related field.
  • Supervision of all operational employees/supervisors.
  • Establish expectations, demonstrate proper behaviors, manage and train personnel to secure a clean and safe working environment; implement safety ideas.
  • Coordinate all facility operations between production departments, shipping, receiving, quality control, laboratory, inventory and maintenance.
  • Work with managers to solve all plant production and communication problems looking for safer, more efficient, quality-oriented solutions.
  • Walk facilities daily to maintain knowledge of facility operations.
  • Ensure plant is operated in compliance with all ISO quality system requirements.
  • Oversee the facilities lab, quality control and the development of specifications and SOP.
  • Directly responsible for resolution of all facility quality control problems.
  • Ensure compliance to and participation in quality initiatives.
  • Handling of any internal audits and local, state, or federal regulatory audits.
  • Assist in DOT compliance with regard to all drivers and equipment.


  • Bachelor’s Degree or 5+ years working managerial experience in an industrial environment. 8+ years’ experience or more in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess working knowledge of chemical labeling, transferring, packaging, handling, and storage and knowledge of DOT, OSHA, DHS, EPA, FRA, ISO, AND HSE regulations and laws.
  • Must know how to operate a Forklift safely and securely.
  • Knowledge of dispatching, truck routing, tanker truck loading and unloading is required for the role
  • Must understand inventory management and the ability to plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Possession of key competencies, including conflict management, business negotiation, organization, communication, interpersonal, and decision-making skills.
  • Must possess supervisory experience and be comfortable providing guidance and direction to their staff.
  • Capable of developing and maintaining effective working relationships with team members and other departments within the organization.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, ability to motivate employees, and maintaining a positive attitude is essential.
  • Ability to prioritize work to meet time-sensitive deadlines both as an individual and as a manager.
