Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: Houston, TX

Position Salary: Base Salary (Depending on Experience) + Bonuses

Responsibilities:

  • This is a ground floor opportunity to build an office within a growing and established company specializing in civil and environmental services. 
  • This Individual would be responsible for management and strategic direction of the office to ensure successful execution of the company’s business plan.
  • Build company projects and book of business for continued pipeline of projects for the office.
  • Analyze and ensure punctual delivery timelines keeping projects on schedule and on budget.
  • Confront and solve performance/operational issues and improve development efficiency.
  • Provide input and make strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility and work to develop and adhere to a budget.
  • Manage and resolve escalated issues arising from operations.
  • Maintain continual open communication and cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Check and confirm the accuracy of the work performed and the methods used by engineering staff
  • Experience working in or with heavy industry including but not limited to oil and gas, pulp and paper/wood products, and/or chemical industry
  • Experience planning, designing, developing construction specifications and schedules, and overseeing construction and maintenance of civil, structural and environmental infrastructure including but not limited to roads, railways, airports, bridges, harbors, dams, solid/industrial waste landfills and impoundments, irrigation projects, and process wastewater treatment systems.
  • Experience developing/managing projects and proficient in the use of a range of computer software programs and models for evaluating and developing detailed designs including CADD, GIS, and hydraulic/hydrologic applications.
  • Proven ability to manage and develop a technical staff of engineers and scientists

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering in either Mechanical, Civil, Environment or similar background; Master’s degree preferred
  • Must have Professional Engineering (PE) Certification in Texas
  • 10+ years’ experience preferred in water/wastewater, remediation/assessment, solid waste, hydraulic processes, land development, civil site design, environmental permitting/compliance
  • Must have a professional demeanor with excellent leadership skills
  • Must be able to bring in a book of business to help grow projects for the office and establish new clientele
  • Demonstrated successful business development, project management, and business management experience 
  • The ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines; The ability to work flexible schedule to meet job requirements and travel as needed
