Manufacturing Engineer

Position Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus


  • Serves as a technical support to the plant, responsible for process improvement, plant productivity, equipment reliability, product quality and capital project execution.
  • Recommend, estimate and manage the execution of site related capital projects
  • Help and Support the Project Team to achieve building & site completion of the facility, including equipment installation, equipment commissioning and startup.
  • Improve manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout
  • Work with Maintenance Manager to set up spare part inventory program to ensure equipment uptime targets are hit during plant operation
  • Assure product and process quality by designing testing methods; testing finished-product and process capabilities; establishing standards; confirming manufacturing processes
  • Work with Maintenance Manger to set up a preventative maintenance program to ensure equipment uptime targets are hit during plant operation
  • Ensure Health Safety & Environmental standards along with all state Technical Equipment Standards are followed as legislated prior to plant startup
  • Support the Plant Manager in achieving site goals for productivity, reliability, quality, cost and customer service
  • Manage capital improvement projects for the plant while achieving budget, schedule and process targets and specific goals.
  • Be the Technical go to resource for the plant site and be the Technical & HSE Standards compliance owner


  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or Technical background is a must; Will consider Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical or related Disciplines
  • 7+ years of experience in a manufacturing background is necessary for the role
  • 5 + years of experience in a project management background working with capital equipment is required
  • Must have a successful track record in developing and implementing effective manufacturing systems (QMS, HS&E, MES, CMMS, KPI Reporting, etc.)
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbally, in writing) with others and foster productive working relationships with management, coworkers and suppliers
  • Ability to maintain an overview of entire projects while continuing to attend to detailed technicalities
  • Lean & Six Sigma working knowledge would be an asset and Hands-on technical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
  • Strong design skills: planning, conceptual and drafting are needed; Good computer skills with working knowledge of MS office, AutoCAD and/or Solidworks
  • Previous experience with commissioning new equipment installations would be an asset
  • Good working knowledge of PLCs, VFDs and linear motion equipment would be an asset; B&R and Automation Direct is a plus
  • Ability and availability to travel as required
