Inventory & Production Manager

Position Type: Direct Hire

Position Location: Houston, TX

Position Salary: $90,000 - $100,000 (Depending on Experience) + Bonus

Responsibilities:

  • Reporting to the VP of operations this role will be responsible for all inventory and inventory reconciliation across owned site(s) and at third-party terminals. He/ She will serve as a member of the Operations Senior Leadership Team. 
  • Work closely with commodity brokers to maximize margins and profitability with our blending and work tank/refining process.
  • Directly manage and lead the day to day operations of the work tank/refining process
  • Develop daily, weekly, and monthly production forecasts and schedules.  Track plan to actual performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Coordinate closely with the terminal manager to ensure staff is properly scheduled to meet production needs
  • Continually seek process improvements to develop efficiency and cost savings in the process
  • Coordinate closely with the logistics team to prepare for arriving material and coordinate outgoing shipments
  • Ensure operations has the necessary consumable supplies to meet the production schedule created

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a financial, business or engineering related fields will all be considered  
  • Minimum 10 years production and inventory planning experience          
  • Working knowledge of cost accounting and accounting principles
  • Working knowledge of demand forecasting, cycle counting, inventory turns, batch processing and process flow principles
  • Knowledge of terminal operations is a plus
  • Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written; Bilingual ability is a plus.
  • Project management knowledge and proficient in Microsoft Office Software
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics is highly desirable, but will consider different ERP systems  
  • Must be TWIC eligible and willing to obtain one
  • Ability to write reports, correspondence, and procedures
  • Ability to effectively present information and communicate with all levels of the organization, from front-line employees to the executive leadership team
  • Strong basic math skills, and the ability to calculate formulas, and understand tank capacities/volumes/ and percentages
  • Ability to work closely with a diverse group of individuals and maintain effective working relationships with staff and customers
  • Knowledge of LEAN principles and applications is a plus
