Position: Industrial Engineer

Location: NW Houston, TX

Salary: $55-$65K, Direct Hire

Shift: 8am-5pm M-F

SUMMARY

The Industrial Engineer will be responsible for the analysis and design of sequence of operations and workflows to improve efficiencies within the supply chain process. Great opportunity for an Entry Level Engineer looking for long term growth!

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering is required.
  • 2 years’ experience in an Industrial Engineer role. Manufacturing or distribution experience is highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD is required. SQL, MS Access, Query building, data mining, data analysis skills highly preferred
  • Proficiency of MS Office (specifically Excel & Word) is required.
  • Mechanical aptitude is highly preferred.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to interact with users and provide clear and useful instruction and training; or obtain necessary information to correct production problems on a timely basis.
  • Ability to identify and monitor potential operational malfunctions.
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards.
  • Confer with vendors, staff, and management personnel regarding purchases, procedures, product specifications, manufacturing capabilities, and project status.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer.
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.  
  • Communicate with management and personnel to develop production and design standards.
  • Formulate sampling procedures and designs and develop forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities.
  • Develop labor utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization.
  • Regulate and alter workflow schedules according to established manufacturing sequences and lead times to expedite production operations.
  • Develop and maintain operational performance standards and metrics.  
  • Collect and analyze operational data for tracking and reporting key performance indicators: status, trends and goal attainment.
  • Identify opportunities to implement changes to improve products and/or reduce costs using knowledge of fabrication processes, tooling and production equipment, assembly methods, quality control standards, or product design, materials and parts.
  • Develop and implement productivity tools to streamline information transfer between engineering, purchasing, logistics, accounting, project management and installation teams.
  • Work cross-functionally with IT, operations and management teams to identify opportunities and design solutions.
  • Serve as project manager for new process implementations
