Murray Resources is hiring a Purchasing Manager to work for a HVAC Installation growing company.

Location: Houston, SW

Salary: $70,000 - $100,000 + Bonus

Job Description:

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and objectives for the procurement of goods and services for the organization
  • Manage all purchasing programs and processes, ensuring adherence to approved cost, quality, and delivery standards
  • Actively participate in inventory control and monitoring of inventory levels.
  • Control the movement and storage of goods
  • Perform production and resource planning
  • Participate in financial forecasting, customer service, and safety initiatives
  • Promote the culture, quality system, and policies and procedures
  • Decrease cost of materials by securing and documenting significantly improved material prices
  • Work with operations to implement policies and procedures to reduce overall inventory levels of raw materials and finished goods
  • Establish secondary source suppliers for all major components to avoid back ordered raw materials
  • Assure availability of raw material and finished goods to maintain a steady operation and on time delivery
  • Develop methods to reduce lead time and improve quality on purchased material
  • Continually search for and document procedures to improve on time performance
  • Optimize storage and warehouse functions
  • Handle communication and negotiations with external suppliers
  • Provide operational support and guidance to ensure maximum productivity
  • Measure and report on supplier performance
  • Measure and report on time performance, order fill, and customer satisfaction


  • 5 years of operational/manufacturing experience in a leadership role (project management, cost control, safety, quality systems, direct supervision)
  • 5 years of experience with Purchasing
  • Great plain experience preferred, not required
  • Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Familiarity with ISO processes
