Job Type: Direct Hire

Job Pay: $70K - $115K + Bonus (Depends on Experience)

Summary:
•    Develop and administer policies, systems, and standards to create safe and healthy working conditions.
•    Responsible for insuring that the facilities and practices are following government safety regulations. 
•    Oversee needed audits and sample testing to ensure that we are following manufacturing safety and environmental standards.

Responsibilities:
•    Implement and maintain a Safety Training Observation Program
•    Process Risk Assessments on all processes with cross-functional teams
•    Oversee incident and accident investigations
•    Share learning of Safety and Environmental strategies and standards to all employees
•    Write, implement and maintain the following program policies and their respective elements to meet OSHA requirements:
•    Hearing conservation
•    Administer hearing tests and schedule visits from suppliers
•    Hazard communication
•    Energy control (Lock Out Tag Out)
•    Overhead crane training
•    Radiation safety
•    Ensure PPE (proper protective equipment) is available and up-to-date
•    Blood-borne pathogens
•    Fall protection
•    Forklift training
•    Compressed gas training
•    Aerial lift platform training
•    Industrial hygiene monitoring coordination
•    Hot work
•    Machine guarding
•    OSHA recordkeeping regulations
•    All OSHA/NIOSH policies and requirements
•    Fire extinguishers
•    Ensure supplies are up-to-date and working
•    Respiratory protection
•    Administer respirator fit tests
•    Travel when needed 
•    Implement and maintain the following program policies and their respective elements:
•    Hazardous waste management/waste stream identification
•    Storm water pollution prevention plan (SWPPP)
•    Coordinate and analyze work environments and design programs to control, eliminate and prevent disease or injury
•    Process waste water
•    Air quality permit
•    Spill prevention control and counter measure (SPCC)
•    Used oil
•    Management of recyclable materials and by-products
•    Management of municipal waste operations
•    Resource conservation recovery act/laws (RCRA)
•    Greenhouse gas regulations

Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
•    Knowledge of OSHA/NIOSH compliance regulations
•    Basic computer skills: MS Word, Excel and Power Point
•    Problem solving skills (PDCA)
•    Knowledge of Lean fundamentals
•    Knowledge of manufacturing process’
•    Knowledge of the five missions of the worksite: Quality, Cost, Delivery, Safety and People
•    Good communication and interpersonal skills
•    Ability to coach and develop a team 
•    Ability to speak in front of groups of people
•    Ability to perform incident and accident investigations
•    Ability to identify waste profiles/streams
•    Capable of managing multiple projects

Education/Requirements:   
•    Bachelor in Health and Safety preferred, Safety Professional Certification preferred or equivalent 
•    Minimum five years in a Safety and Environmental position
