A leading provider of workspace products and services in Houston is adding a Wall Designer to their growing staff.  They are seeking a dynamic self-starter who has an architectural design background. This position reports to the Design Team Leader and will plan, design, and furnishes demountable wall systems in commercial and industrial buildings.  

Compensation: DOE


  • Review construction and bid documents to determine demountable wall scopes and details
  • Clean architectural drawings to reduce file size to import into wall design software
  • Draw linear footage of demountable wall scope to determine linear footage total
  • Audit to eliminate errors in the specification and ordering processes as necessary
  • Setup project requirements and design demountable walls based on project specific details using CET Designer and Maars 4D Extension
  • Create renderings, presentation plans and bill of materials for pricing and ordering
  • Develop and complete shop drawings per company/departmental standards
  • Adhere to manufacturers recommended planning guides
  • Stay compliant with local codes and ADA requirements
  • Professionally and clearly maintain internal and external communication (written and verbal) of projects
  • Coordinate and manage design-side details on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Communicate with all internal customers in a collaborative manner to facilitate needs and efficiently complete all tasks
  • Continue to educate and familiarize yourself with manufacturer websites and technical sites to obtain better understanding of product
  • Maintain high standards of performance at all times
  • Establish work procedures to achieve high level of quality, productivity, and service as needed
  • Provide proactive solutions and/or options to overcome obstacles
  • Accept responsibility and accountability for outcome of work
  • Maintain positive working relationships with customers, influencers, dealers, and everyone involved
  • Dedicate self to project and timely completion with strong focus on milestones and deadlines along the way
  • Work with diligence and a strong sense of urgency to meet or exceed timeframes and resolve possible impediments to completion
  • Be resourceful in providing work arounds as necessary to compensate delays and/or unforeseen scheduling conflicts


  • Graduate of a four-year program with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or Technical Based Design
  • Three years' AutoCAD work experience preferred
  • Ability to comprehend and interpret construction documents
  • Three years’ experience in related position with technical expertise
  • Experience with CET Designer and Maars 4D Extension
  • Intermediate skill level of AutoCAD
  • Familiar with industry standard specification tools and MS Office
  • Ability to clearly and professionally communicate with team members and clients both verbally and in writing
  • Maintain professional behavior on daily basis, preserving self-confidence, motivation, and self-esteem of others
  • Offer solutions for problems or issues that arise; works collaboratively with others and be a strong team player willing to take on new processes
