Murray Resources is in search of a CNC Machine CAM Programmer to work in Sugar Land, Texas for an Oil and Gas company.

Location: Sugar Land, Texas

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 (Determined by potential, experience and education)

Type: Temp to Hire

Shift:  6:30a.m – 3:00p.m.


  • Create machining programs from designed components for a wide variety of CNC controls and equipment
  • Develop and maintain CNC programs and set-up instructions as needed for mill and lathe operations
  • Plan, set up, and carry out the operations needed to make machined products from raw stock and meet precise specifications
  • Edit existing CNC programming code
  • Interpret machine drawings, routings, and BOMs
  • Work to develop production and fabrication strategies
  • Estimate programming, setup, and run times
  • Occasionally set up and operate machinery to verify accuracy of machine settings

  • Be well-versed in the use of computers
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing Engineering/Design or Mechanical Engineering, or an Associate’s degree with applicable work experience
  • Work experience as a machinist or its equivalent
  • Minimum of one year experience in the use of G-code and CNC programming systems
  • Must be very adept with the usage of various software like SolidWorks, CAD or CAM
  • Understanding of routing and tooling procedures
  • Good math (trigonometry) skills and programming skills
  • Experience in a variety of metal alloys including aluminum, carbon steel, stainless steel, titanium and nickel alloy
  • Able to use independent judgment with minimal oversight by supervision as well as strong collaborative team member
  • Possess a professional and productive work attitude
  • Have a strategic mind to decide the best possible sequence of workflow to produce a particular product 
  • Must think quickly and have good problem-solving skills
  • Motivational and know how to set goals and priorities 
  • Have a strategic mind to decide the best possible production cycle for optimum usage of resources
  • Able to remain calm under pressure and capable of anticipating mistakes, because one flaw in the design can lead to issues with many products
  • Must use good judgment and be trustworthy
