CAD/Plant 3D Designer 

Position Type: Contract to Hire

Position Location: Houston, TX

Position Salary: $30/HR – $40/HR (Depending on Experience)

Responsibilities:

  • Produces documents using AutoCAD 2D/3D, AutoCAD Plant software.
  • Produce valve drawings, assemblies, and bill of materials
  • Demonstrates complete understanding of software and how to apply it to company procedures.
  • Demonstrates understanding of all horizontal/vertical design requirements.
  • Organizes construction documents from beginning to end with little to minor direction.
  • Performs specialized work, applying advance skills & producing large scale, complex drawings.
  • Demonstrates understanding of codes and regulatory requirements for design.
  • Performs thorough quality control of construction documents.
  • Manages deadlines and prioritizes assignments.
  • Maintains file management of AutoCAD files and other documents.
  • Communicates effectively with other team members.
  • Identifies cautions/warnings of designs and provides immediate solutions.
  • Demonstrates understanding of client, project and team requirements.
  • Ensures compliance with company CAD standards within the scope of assigned projects.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma a minimum; Associates or Technical certification a plus
  • 5+ years in plant / industrial design/drafting
  • Must have experience with general arrangement drawings
  • Must have experience with the following:
    • Equipment and valve drawings, assemblies, and bill of material
    • Process Flow diagrams
    • Piping and instrumentation diagram (P&ID)
    • Piping isometrics
    • Chemical plant layout
    • Piping general arrangement drawing
  • Experience with sheet metal design and construction a plus
