Our client, located in the League City area is seeking a Buyer to join their team. The primary focus of the Buyer is to source PCB components from Asia.  

Salary: $26.00 – $33.00 DOE

Location: League City, TX; Will consider working remotely

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates purchasing requirements from multiple vendors in Asia, ideally Shenzhen area of Mainland China, Thailand, Vietnam or Taiwan for PCB, PCBA, injection molded and electronic parts
  • Confers with various departments regarding materials requirements, using common sense in some cases before ordering parts. Recommends substitutes (direct crossing of components when needed to find stock) and changes when parts go obsolete, for cost savings or supportive deliveries will result.
  • Solicits and evaluates quotations and negotiates directly with supplier representatives for best price, delivery, and terms.
  • Issues purchase orders, solicits quotations, and determines best source of supply.
  • Follows up on open orders; expedites material to meet demand.
  • Keeps abreast of current and developing market conditions and road maps of product life cycles.
  • Investigates and interviews new vendors as possible sources.
  • Manages RMAs / re-works with multiple vendors involving replacement of non-conforming materials.
  • Assures that all purchasing documents are maintained in accordance with good business practices and filing of all documentation.
  • Develops and maintains all necessary weekly and monthly reports associated with assigned responsibilities.
  • Supports department goals for minimum vendor delinquencies, timely purchase requisition placement, and timely processing of hold tags, rejections, and cost estimating proposals.
  • Ensure suppliers have and maintain quality assurance

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience in sourcing PCB manufacturers in Asia.
  • 3+ years’ experience in material management and working with MRP systems.
  • Self-reliant and able to adapt to change. Accepts responsibility and accountability.
  • Self-supportive. Has and uses common sense.
