Business Head / COO

Summary: 

One of our clients is seeking a high-energy, hands-on, entrepreneurial leader to lead a $10M+ manufacturing services company as their Business Head / COO. This person will be responsible for leading and growing the company and must be highly-driven with a strong financial acumen. You will wear many hats – sales, operations, finance – you should be able to meet with bankers and recruit, hire, and oversee a manufacturing facility.

Position Type: Direct Hire

Compensation: 

$120-135K Depending on Experience + Bonus / Profit Sharing 

Responsibilities:

  • This is a “hands-on” proactive role responsible for leading and growing a $10+ million dollar privately-held company.
  • Expected to be a strategic leader for the organization, while overseeing that budgets and resources are properly allocated.
  • This position is responsible for establishing and driving business segment goals and strategies of his/her business unit, as growing sales and accounts.
  • Streamline the manufacturing processes and implement solid validation and project management processes with the executive team
  • The successful candidate will be high-energy, hands on, with a manufacturing background skill set.
  • He/she must have operations, lean manufacturing, P&L, strong leadership experience in taking a company to the next level in his/her past history

Requirements:

  • Bachelors/ Masters degree in a manufacturing, sales, operations, logistics, or some other related degree.
  • 5+ years’ experience if the candidate currently has an MBA / Masters Degree; 10+ years’ experience if the candidate does not have a Masters/MBA.
  • Steel or steel manufacturing industry experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Must have at least 5 years’ experience working with company financial information, P&L’s, and the economics of the business
  • Must have strong communications skills, both verbal and written. Bilingual candidates are a plus.
  • The correct person for this role must be ambitious, motivated, action-oriented and ready to help take the company to the next level.
  • Must have had previous hiring experience with hiring in previous roles.
  • Must be willing to travel locally as needed.

This person will:

  • Be entrepreneurial.
  • Not be afraid to get involved in all aspects of the company, from sales to operations to budgeting.
  • Have small company experience.
  • Be ready to get started within 2 weeks of an offer acceptance.
  • Be extremely financially literate.
  • Be comfortable with reading, interpreting, and acting on data.

This person will not:

  • Be bureaucratic.
  • Slow moving.
  • Need large company resources.
