Position Description:

  • This position will report directly to the Director of Operation and will work closely with the rest of the management team as a key member.
  • This position develops and oversees the operational strategies of the business involving production, shipping, receiving, and inventory management to support the overall strategic direction of the company.
  • This position is responsible for coordinating the activities of employees engaged in material handling, shipping, storage and transportation.

Essential Position Functions

  • Manage the execution of Fulfillment Operations, including receiving, order picking, order inspection, order packing, shipping, returns, inventory control, quality assurance, operational flow, reporting, training, material handling, equipment utilization, administration, security, housekeeping, supplies and budget control.
  • Train, develop, and evaluate subordinates as well as administer any necessary disciplinary/corrective actions.
  • Maintain a high degree of quality management and continuous improvement in every facet of the operation.
  • Manage and enforce all procedures and measures necessary to maintain inventory accuracy and the integrity of the quality management system.
  • Plan and conduct meetings as needed.
  • Create and submit reports as needed.
  • Create and maintain a safe, secure and sanitary work environment.
  • Interface with other internal groups to understand and meet customer expectations, as well as to ensure compliance with all company rules, guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Must be able to document and implement processes that support the operational goals and quality management system.  
  • Help establish and drive the achievement of all Fulfillment Operations goals, including quality, delivery and cost containment.
  • Provide leadership that positions the company as a "world class" fulfillment service provider.
  • Provide leadership to employees and monitor their performance to ensure adherence to established standards and procedures and to achieve business goals and objectives.
  • Achieve and improve company Key Performance Indicators which include: Safety, Perfect Order Quality, and On-time Delivery.
  • Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing costs and capabilities using methodologies such as Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
  • Duties include reviewing performance appraisals, counseling and statistical recaps submitted by the supervisory staff, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Overseeing incoming and outgoing shipping activities to ensure accuracy, completeness and conditions of shipments.
  • Determining work procedures, preparing work schedules and expediting workflow.
  • Determining shipping priorities, work assignments and shipping methods required to meet shipping and receiving schedules.
  • Inspecting incoming materials and notifying appropriate staff of potential quality issues.
  • Inspecting loading operations to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Directing movement of shipments to appropriate work areas.
  • Ensuring shipping and receiving area is organized and clean at all times and meets all compliance factors.

 

Education and/or Experience

  • 4  + years of relevant experience required, High school diploma or GED preferred
  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written), 
  • Ability to work well with others, Self-motivated, 
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, 
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations.
  • Must pass drug screen & background
