Job Description
A well-established industrial rental company is looking for a Shop Service Technician to perform basic inspections, diagnoses, and repairs of heavy equipment and related components. The ideal candidate is self-driven and has a foundational understanding of various tools and equipment. Working as a team member, the new hire will contribute to operational excellence by delivering essential mechanical services that meet customer requirements and support departmental objectives.

Location:Â Sunnyvale, TX
Type of Position: Direct Hire
Responsibilities:
- Perform basic troubleshooting and diagnosing of equipment malfunctions and failures.
- Assist in rebuilding, repairing, and maintaining equipment and components.
- Learn how to plan equipment and component repairs.
- Learn how to complete parts orders and identify parts for return.
- Maintain all equipment and work areas – keep in good, clean, and orderly condition.
- Complete all documents associated with repairs promptly.
- Work safely at all times and adhere to all applicable safety policies; comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
- Work overtime as required by workload and customers’ needs.
- Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, e.g., ProTech Technician Training Paths.
- Require regular and punctual employee attendance.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- One or more years of work-related skill, knowledge, or experience preferred
- Must have/acquire basic mechanic hand and pneumatic tools (metric/standard)
- General knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance
- Demonstrate proficiency with current computer software, related hardware, and machine electronic systems
- Operation and control skills - Controlling operations of equipment or systems
- Equipment selection skills - Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job
- Ability to operate a conventional forklift
- Ability to operate hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and equipment used in mechanical repair
- The ability to quickly and repeatedly operate the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
- The ability to make precisely coordinated movements of the fingers of one or both hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble very small objects
- The ability to read, write, and understand information
- The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences
