Job Description

A fast-growing transportation company is seeking a Truck Maintenance Technician to oversee vehicle upkeep and ensure operational safety. The ideal candidate is a skilled mechanic with a strong background in truck and trailer systems. Working proactively, the new team member will enhance operational efficiency by performing minor repairs, coordinating maintenance activities, and ensuring compliance with safety standards while fostering collaboration across internal teams and external workshops.

Location: Jacksonville, FL 32221
Type of Position: Direct Hire

Responsibilities:

Execute vehicle inspection schedules and repair plans.
Support the development of cost-effective technical solutions.
Conduct thorough inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards.
Address maintenance concerns in collaboration with workshops and vendors.
Provide guidance to the team regarding technical details of the fleet.
Support team training on technical processes and safety protocols.
Track the inventory of maintenance tools and parts.
Monitor repairs performed by partners, evaluate the outcome and provide feedback.
Recommend improvements for maintenance operations.
Liaise with workshops to ensure timely and accurate repairs.
Maintain detailed records of inspections, repairs, and costs.
Analyze maintenance data to improve efficiency.
Set technical objectives aligned with operational needs.
Implement strategies to enhance vehicle readiness.

Requirements:

Strong mechanical background with truck and trailer systems
Diesel Engine Mechanic
CDL license is desirable
Excellent problem-solving and mechanical skills
Proficiency in English; Spanish is a plus
Familiarity with safety and compliance standards
Quality - Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; Look for ways to improve and promote
Quality- Apply feedback to improve performance; Monitor own work to ensure quality
Attendance/Punctuality – is consistently at work and on time
