Job Description

A fast-growing transport company is seeking a Flatbed Instructor & Warehouse Operations Specialist to lead hands-on driver training while supporting day-to-day operations at its Delivery Center. The ideal candidate is an experienced CDL driver with a strong safety mindset, excellent communication skills, and proven organizational ability. This hybrid role combines practical flatbed training with warehouse and yard operations, ensuring both driver readiness and smooth operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Training & Driver Development
  • Lead two practical training sessions per day for groups of drivers, covering:
  • Pre-trip inspection (PTI) of truck and trailer
  • Proper climbing and exit techniques
  • Load securement with straps, chains, and binders
  • Tarp positioning and folding
  • Flatbed safety protocols
  • Provide constructive feedback, corrections, and performance evaluations
  • Complete checklists to confirm drivers are road-ready and compliant with safety standards
  • Deliver training in technology use: logbook systems, tablets, GPS devices
    Warehouse & Operations Support
    • Maintain accurate documentation for vehicle deliveries, inspections, and inventory
    • Prepare and update reports on schedules, performance, and equipment readiness
    • Act as a liaison between drivers, operations, and administrative teams
    • Support continuous improvement in both training and operational workflows
    • Receive, inspect, and organize trucks and trailers in the yard
    • Assist in vehicle preparation, deliveries, and yard coordination
    • Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards during all yard operations
    • Collaborate with logistics teams to align operational activities and delivery schedules

    Requirements
    • Valid CDL license (mandatory)
    • Previous flatbed driving experience required
    • Strong communication and teaching ability; patient and safety-focused
    • Ability to climb trailers, fold tarps, and handle heavy chains/binders
    • Organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation and scheduling
    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint; basic logistics/warehouse systems knowledge
    • Forklift experience required
    • Physically able to lift 50 lbs. and perform yard/warehouse tasks
    • Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese preferred
